10. View Certificate
Website Billing
1:
Prominently displayed (i.e. bold print, large font size, etc.)
Descriptor. This statement
must include the mane that will appear on the cardholder’s statement.
2:
Prominently displayed customer service numbers.
Both the toll-free and local numbers must be displayed.
3:
Billing Terms and Conditions.
This section must be used to disclose all Terms and Conditions,
which apply to the billing of the credit card, as well as the pricing of
the services or products offered. The
pull-down menu is an excellent way of organizing this information, but is
not required.
4:
This section must contain any special offers, such as membership or
free trials, and must fully explain how and when these offers will be will
be billed, as well as how these offers may be cancelled.
The example given shows some language that may be used for the
types of offers mentioned above.
5:
All of the above information must appear no more than one inch
above the area where the cardholder enters his or her credit information.
6:
The credit card information input spaces should appear alone below
the required information. Including
spaces for any membership information, such as Name, Address, Phone
Number, etc. above the credit card input spaces will violate the one-inch
rule explained above. It is
best to list these input spaces on a separate web page that precedes the
billing page (see Cardholder Information Page).
7:
This section should contain a prominently displayed hyperlink to
the full Terms and Conditions regarding the sale of the products and/or
services.
8:
This statement must appear directly above the “Submit” and
“Cancel” buttons. The
statement must contain a reference to the legal age of the cardholder (if
applicable) as well as a reference to the full understanding of the Terms
and Conditions.
9:
Both a “Submit” and “Cancel” button must appear here.
10:
This section must contain hyperlinks to the Security Certificates
